Wild blackberries, blueberries, and black raspberries create a nuanced mid-palate. Plush, fine-grained tannins glide smoothly on the palate. The Memento Mori Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 is another wine that will be a candidate for perfection in 7-8 years, it comes from a mix of sites (Dr. Crane, Las Piedras, Vine Hill Ranch, Weitz and Oakville Ranch) and spends 22 months in new barrels. Reminding me of the 2016, it has remarkable purity in its cassis and darker fruits as well as some obvious minerality, full-bodies richness, perfect balance and building, subtle nots of violets, graphite and chocolate. A brilliant wine, hide bottles for 4-6 years and enjoy over the following two decades of more.

The Memento Mori Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 is made of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and deep garnet-purple in colour. It opens somewhat reluctantly with cedar and baking spice scents; eventually giving way to a tantalizing core of Black Forest cake, blackcurrant cordial and candied violets with a waft of black raspberries. The tightly wound, medium to full-bodied palate is taut with ripe black fruits and a fine-grained textured. This delivers loads of perfumed layers on the long finish. Stunning. Our Memento Mori Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 from Napa Valley captures your attention immediately and holds it until it lets you go. Energetic waves of blackberries, boysenberries, cassis, cigar box, spiced mocha, and clove leap from the glass. These flavours continue to evolve with time. Pulling fruit from all of the vineyards we work with, the wine offers a decadent mix of black, blue, and red fruits. Expressive minerality, vibrant acidity, and plush tannins support this blend. Aged for 22 months in 100% new French oak, this is a seductive and sensual wine. It highlights a vintage full of life and energy. Expressive in its youth, this wine will only improve with time.
