Olivier Leflaive Meursault Clos Velle 2022

Clos de la Velle is a classic Meursault from a single, walled vineyard situated on well drained soils. ‘La Velle’ means village or town and ‘Dans la Velle’ is the land immediately below the village where the vineyard can be found.

Olivier Leflaive Meursault Clos Velle 2022 is a fragrant wine and offers a fruity sensation of pear in the mouth. Its balance is well controlled, with beautiful homogeneity.

“Rich, generous, upright, savoury, with the accent on freshness even so… this is the spirit of 2022.”

Franck Grux Technical Director, Maison Olivier Leflaive

2022 Vintage

The Olivier Leflaive Meursault Clos Velle 2022 vintage brought serenity back to the vineyard with a heathy harvest and correct volumes. With rainfall accumulations far from excessive, the year 2022 was marked by average temperatures higher than seasonal norms and rainfall deficits from the start of the vine’s vegetative cycle. At the beginning of April, episodes of frost will recall the terrible nights of April 6 and 7 of 2021, but fortunately with an impact beyond measure. The year 2022 is the year of all records for sunshine with the equivalent of an additional month of July.
